The Witcher 3, while critically acclaimed, wasn't without its flaws. Many fans felt the combat system fell short.
In a recent interview, Witcher 4's game director, Sebastian Kalemba, acknowledged weaknesses in the previous game's gameplay. He specifically highlighted the need for significant improvements to both the core gameplay mechanics and the monster hunting experience. His words: "We want to improve the gameplay and the monster hunting experience."
Kalemba emphasized that the Witcher 4 trailer should showcase the impactful and powerful nature of monster battles, focusing on improved choreography and emotional intensity.
Expect a substantial combat overhaul in The Witcher 4. Thankfully, CD Projekt Red recognizes the shortcomings of past Witcher titles and is addressing them directly. These improvements are likely to carry over into future installments, especially considering Ciri's central role in the upcoming trilogy.
Interestingly, developers also plan to incorporate Triss's wedding into the game. Originally conceived for Witcher 3's "Ashen Marriage" quest in Novigrad, the storyline depicts Triss's affection for Castello and her desire for a swift wedding. In this version, Geralt aids in preparations, ranging from monster extermination in the canals to procuring alcohol and choosing a wedding gift.
