New details about the upcoming Assassin's Creed Shadows have emerged online following the alleged leak of an artbook, surprisingly found on a hentai website, among other places.
Discovered on r/GamingLeaksAndRumours, the "Art of Assassin's Creed Shadows" artbook has rapidly spread across the internet. Containing hundreds of pages of concept art, quotes, and development information, it offers a significant glimpse into the next Assassin's Creed title.
The leak's origin is unusual, with Reddit posts claiming it originated from a site known for hosting hentai content. IGN has reached out to Ubisoft for comment. While the original gallery has been removed from the source site, it has since been archived on various file-sharing platforms and image galleries.

The leaked artbook showcases concepts for renowned historical figures, major cities, and a diverse range of weaponry. The artwork also seemingly reveals potential plot spoilers for Assassin's Creed Shadows. While confirmation awaits the game's official release, the leaked images appear authentic.
The leak surfaces just before Assassin's Creed Shadows' launch on March 20, 2025, following a delay from its originally planned 2024 release.
At a recent preview event, IGN spoke with Assassin's Creed Shadows game director, Charles Benoit. He confirmed the month-long delay was primarily focused on polishing the game, without altering core systems. Minor adjustments were made to progression and balancing, but the most significant changes involved the parkour system, which presented unique challenges within the setting of Feudal Japan.
"The Japanese architecture, the roofs [are] super complex," Benoit explained. "Probably the most complex thing that I ever worked with if we compared to Odyssey and Syndicate. We needed specific codes and specific animations to support something super fluid, changing the transition of the parkour to make it even more fluid. So that's one of the specific feedback that we heard that we wanted to address, and it really improved since the last few months."
