Application Description

War of Empire Conquest (WOE) is an engaging real-time strategy (RTS) mobile game that thrives on competitive player versus player (PvP) action. In WOE, one player initiates a match, inviting others to join and battle in real-time. Players enjoy a high degree of control over various units and buildings, making strategic decisions that can turn the tide of battle.

Main Elements:

WOE brings to life 18 powerful medieval Empires or civilizations, including China, Japan, Persia, Teutonic, Mongolian, Gothic, Maya, and more. Each Empire features 8 types of regular units alongside a unique unit that sets them apart. For example, Mongolia boasts Riders, Persia has War Elephants, and Spain fields Conquistadors. The regular units, consistent across all Empires, include:

  • Swordsman: A versatile and common unit.
  • Pikeman: Effective against Cavalry but vulnerable to arrows.
  • Archers: Strong against Pikemen but susceptible to Cavalry.
  • Light Cavalry: Known for fast movement and high mobility, ideal for harassing enemies.
  • Aries: Specialized in attacking buildings.

Buildings like Towers, Turrets, Castles, and blacksmith shops play crucial roles. For instance, a Tower, when manned by 5 farmers, can shoot 6 arrows simultaneously, while Turrets are primarily used for demolishing enemy structures.

Each Empire in WOE has distinct advantages and disadvantages, encouraging players to delve into the game for a detailed understanding. For example, the Huns don't need to construct houses, saving time and resources, while their Cavalry is 20% cheaper and can be upgraded to Rangers. In contrast, the Teutonic warriors are powerful but slow-moving, reminiscent of historical Spartan warriors.

Highlights:

The core of WOE's gameplay revolves around multitasking from the start of a match. Players must simultaneously:

  1. Develop Economy: Continuously produce farmers and collect resources, utilizing Town Centers (TCs) and Towers as temporary shelters.
  2. Harass Enemies: Deploy small units early on to disrupt enemy farmers and gain an edge.
  3. Destroy Enemies: Engage and defeat opposing forces.

Teamwork and understanding unit counters are vital. Players should recognize that Pikemen counter Cavalry, Cavalry counter Archers, Archers counter Pikemen, and specialized units like the Slave (on a camel) or Koryo Carriage have unique advantages over certain enemy types.

Game Modes:

WOE features two primary resources: Food and Gold. As players progress, they can upgrade their TC through different eras—from the Dark Ages to the Feudal, Castle, and Emperor eras—unlocking advanced technologies, buildings, and units. The game offers various modes, with the most popular being:

  • Normal Mode: Resources are limited, emphasizing early development and strategic harassment before escalating to full-scale conflict.
  • Imperial Deathmatch Mode: Players start in the Emperor era with ample resources, allowing for immediate intense battles.

Main Features:

Having been available in China for four years, WOE has evolved through numerous updates to its current version, 1.8.n. Key features include player vs. CPU battles, network play, spectator mode, replay functionality, map creation, legion formation, friend lists, and in-game chat. These features enhance the depth and social aspect of the game, making WOE a robust platform for RTS enthusiasts.
