Halo Infinite, while perhaps not dominating the headlines like some other titles, continues to receive consistent content updates. A recent addition is S&D Extraction, a new competitive game mode designed to deliver a strategic and refreshing gameplay experience.
Inspired by Counter-Strike's core mechanics, S&D Extraction adds its own unique twists. Two teams of four players face off: attackers attempt to plant a device at a designated location, while defenders try to prevent them. Teams switch roles after each round, with the first team to win six rounds claiming victory.
The mode incorporates a robust economic system. Players earn in-game currency by completing objectives, which they then use to purchase equipment at the start of each round. Pricing is dynamic, fluctuating based on player performance, and all gear is lost at the end of each round.
Item costs reflect their power and effectiveness. Expect cheaper options early in the match, escalating prices mid-game, and potentially even higher costs for late-round purchases depending on saved earnings. Players also have the option to pay for respawns after elimination.
Launching in 2025, S&D Extraction promises a dynamic and engaging competitive experience for Halo Infinite players, adding a new dimension to the game's already established competitive scene.
