Freedom Wars Remastered features Abductors with visible health bars on their torsos. Players utilize various weapons and items to deplete this health. The game incorporates diverse damage types, each with unique mechanics. While Light Melee weapons target specific body parts, Impact Damage plays a similar role, significantly impacting combat strategy. Mastering Impact Damage is crucial for efficient Abductor takedowns. This guide explains Impact Damage and its effective application in Freedom Wars Remastered.
Understanding Impact Damage in Freedom Wars Remastered
Impact Damage is primarily associated with Heavy Melee weapons and certain Ranged Weapons. The numerical value alongside the Impact Damage percentage doesn't directly increase total damage. Instead, it represents non-elemental damage boosting the force of regular attacks, consequently increasing the Abductor's stagger rate. A full stagger meter results in the Abductor staggering, falling, or exhibiting unique reactions, creating opportunities for substantial damage before recovery.
Unlike the readily visible health bar, the stagger meter is hidden. Staggering can occur at any point once the rate surpasses a threshold. This presents both advantages and challenges. Offline play allows for charged attacks and maximized damage output. However, online, staggering might hinder teammates' attacks. Some Abductors, like Ramosa, react by moving backward, potentially complicating precise attacks during a stagger.
Boosting Stagger Damage in Freedom Wars Remastered
Increasing Stagger Damage requires unlocking the Weapon Development Facility. This facility enables weapon crafting and customization, offering various enhancement options. The Manufacture Modules feature allows creation of modules using gathered resources. The Stagger Damage Up Module necessitates Glassy Carbon, a common field resource in Basic Operations. Multiple identical modules can be combined via Synthesise Modules to enhance their effectiveness. Attaching the crafted module to a weapon increases its Impact Damage, improving stagger capabilities.
Given Impact Damage's non-elemental nature, prioritizing physical damage upgrades over elemental enhancements optimizes enemy staggering. Modules like Stagger Damage Up are especially beneficial for users of heavy melee weapons or ranged weapons naturally adept at building stagger.
