Details on Remedy's Current Game Development Projects

Remedy Entertainment's annual report reveals significant progress across its development pipeline. Control 2 has cleared the concept validation phase and is now in full production, a major step forward for the project.

Alongside Control 2, two other titles are actively under development: FBC: Firebreak and the remakes of Max Payne 1+2. These projects, previously in pre-production a year ago, have advanced to the next stage of development. However, the studio has confirmed the cancellation of Project Kestrel, a collaboration with Tencent, which was terminated in May of last year.

All current projects leverage Remedy's proprietary Northlight engine, previously utilized in titles such as Alan Wake 2, ensuring a consistent and proven technological foundation.

Financially, Control 2 boasts a €50 million budget and will be self-published by Remedy for release on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC. FBC: Firebreak, with a €30 million budget, will launch on PlayStation and Xbox subscription services, alongside Steam and the Epic Games Store.

While the budget for the Max Payne 1+2 remakes remains undisclosed, Remedy confirms they will be AAA-quality titles. Rockstar Games is fully funding both development and marketing for this project.
