Leaks Exciting Battlefield Fans; EA Yet to Respond

Apr 26,2025 Author: Allison

Despite the stringent measures of requiring players to sign non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) to keep details of EA's upcoming untitled Battlefield game under wraps, the game has still leaked online, with numerous videos and screenshots emerging. These leaks showcase what participants in the closed playtesting have experienced.

As previously reported when the leaks first appeared, the footage corroborates the "modern" setting that Vince Zampella had hinted at earlier, setting it apart from other entries in the Battlefield series. Browsing through the Battlefield subreddit reveals a wealth of firefights, glimpses of the game's destructible environments, and several new gameplay mechanics such as the ability to hang off vehicles and drag wounded teammates to safety.

Surprisingly, EA seems to be taking a rather lenient stance on these leaks. Unlike most publishers who zealously guard against leaked early footage due to concerns over incomplete animations, unfinished user interfaces, and subpar graphics, EA has not yet initiated any takedown actions, even though participants are technically breaching their confidentiality agreements.

This relaxed approach might be influenced by the fact that, in contrast to the lukewarm reception of Battlefield 2042, fans are showing considerable enthusiasm for what they've seen so far of the new game.

One player expressed cautious optimism, stating, "I am scared to say that but this game is shaping up very damn well. I hope there are no catches…" Another noted, "The animations of the weapons moving around while running / doing anything look better than 2042 to me."

A third player was effusive about the game's potential, saying, "Dude, even in a pre-alpha state, the explosions, bullets, and projectiles whizzing by, buildings crumbling down, dust kicking up. This has so much potential!"

Someone else was particularly impressed with the game's audio and destruction mechanics, commenting, "I can't get over how good the sounds and the destruction look at alpha."

EA anticipates launching its next Battlefield game within the fiscal year 2026, which translates to a release window between April 2025 and March 2026. Following the first official unveiling just last month, it's confirmed that the new game will feature the return of a traditional, single-player, linear campaign, a move that has been warmly received by fans who missed this element in the multiplayer-focused Battlefield 2042.
