The Last Knight is a captivating side quest in the Rinascita region of Wuthering Waves, offering a fresh perspective on life beyond Ragunna City. While it may not boast the epic scale of the main quest line or larger exploration quests, it provides a delightful experience with rewarding outcomes.
Compared to more complex quests like "Where Wind Returns To Celestial Realms" in Wuthering Waves, The Last Knight is straightforward and less time-consuming. Here’s a detailed walkthrough to guide you through this engaging side quest.
Starting The Last Knight Quest
To initiate The Last Knight quest, you must first complete Chapter 2, including the "What Yesterday Wept, Today Doth Sing" quest. We highly recommend finishing the main quest before diving into Rinascita, as many side quests, including this one, are locked until you complete Chapter 2 Act 3.
Once you’ve completed the necessary quests, travel to Egla Town in Whisperwind Haven. Look for Cosimo, who should be standing in front of the first house next to the main road leading out of town. He’ll be marked by a blue quest marker on your map, making him easy to find.
The Night Reveries
The Night Reveries are a tribute to a knight renowned for defeating a giant in Whisperwind Haven. As part of this quest, you’ll need to participate in this performance by confronting the Mad Knight.
The Mad Knight appears exclusively at night. Advance the game time to between 18:00 and 06:00 the next day, then head to the pool in the center of town. Although the Mad Knight isn’t a formidable foe, use your full arsenal to take it down efficiently.
The Last Knight: Mimic Chests
After defeating the Mad Knight, proceed to the tallest tower in town and follow the quest marker to Carlow, who you’ll find unconscious next to a large purple flower. Interact with the flower to enter a different instance, where your task is to identify the mimic among several chests.
The first three supply chests are safe to open. However, in the subsequent set, only one chest is genuine, and the rest are mimics. The correct chest to open is the second one in the middle-left position. Upon opening it, you’ll receive Astrites and other rewards, but be prepared to fend off the mimics that attack afterward.
The Knight's Trail and The Strange Scent
Once you’ve dealt with the purple flower’s effects, your next objective is to visit the second and third locations linked to the legendary Mad Knight. This segment involves following quest markers and engaging with NPCs.
After conversing with Mr. Millkeeper, Abby will mention a strange scent. Follow the quest marker uphill to confront a unique Chop Chop accompanied by an invulnerable Leftless and Rightless. We recommend equipping a Questless Knight Echo in your main Echo slot, as it allows you to parry the Chop Chop’s attacks and instantly stun it.
Upon defeating the Chop Chop, Mr. Millkeeper reveals that the legendary knight was a myth; instead, it was he and other Windmill Keepers who protected the town as faux knights. This revelation causes Carlow to flee in disbelief.
Find Carlow
Return to Egla Town during the day and locate Carlow in one of the town plazas. You’ll find him facing ridicule from two knights. Instead of succumbing to fear, Carlow vows to challenge one of them to a duel, letting go of his romanticized view of the Mad Knight and embracing the true essence of being a protector.
The quest concludes after Carlow requests the duel. Completing The Last Knight rewards you with Union XP, Astrites, and various resources, and it will be marked as completed in the Tales of the Isles event.
