All Dynasty Warriors: Origins Difficulty Settings
Four difficulty levels are available, though only three initially: Historian (easy), Wayfarer (normal), and Hero (hard). Ultimate Warrior (very hard) unlocks after completing a faction's main scenario. Note that while there's a trophy/achievement for completing a battle on Ultimate Warrior, campaign completion achievements aren't difficulty-specific.
Which Dynasty Warriors: Origins Difficulty Setting is Best?
Historian is ideal for newcomers to the genre or those prioritizing story over intense combat. Wayfarer provides a balanced experience suitable for most players, even with limited Musou/Warriors experience. Series veterans might start with Hero, while seasoned Musou players should consider Ultimate Warrior after unlocking it for a greater challenge.
Difficulty can be adjusted between battles via the config menu without affecting the storyline.
Difficulty Mode Differences in Dynasty Warriors: Origins
Historian simplifies combat, making enemy attacks easily blockable, staggering easier, bravery gain simpler, and Musou Gauge filling faster. Hero increases enemy strength and aggression, reduces parry/evade windows, and removes Meat Bun drops. Bravery depletes on blocking, army battle influence is limited, and Skill Points/gold rewards are reduced. Ultimate Warrior intensifies Hero's challenges with even tighter timing windows and significantly lower rewards.
