Nintendo Denies Genki's Switch 2 Showcase Claims

Following the recent CES 2025 event, where accessory maker Genki displayed a purported 3D-printed Nintendo Switch 2 model, Nintendo has officially refuted the claims. Both CNET Japan and the Sankei newspaper reported Nintendo's statement that the images and videos are not official, and that Genki's showcased hardware was not provided by Nintendo.

Genki, an American manufacturer of electronics and gaming accessories (controllers, SSDs, chargers, etc.), generated significant buzz at CES 2025 by presenting the 3D-printed mockup and hinting at possessing a functional Switch 2 unit, along with a supposed release date. Their website even features a dedicated page for upcoming Switch 2 accessories, complete with a detailed animated mockup of the console.

Despite Genki's assertions, Nintendo maintains radio silence on concrete Switch 2 details, only confirming future announcements and backwards compatibility with the original Switch. This public denial by Nintendo suggests an official announcement regarding the Switch 2 may be imminent.
