Capcom has released a significant hotfix for Monster Hunter Wilds, version 1.000.05.00, across all platforms. This update focuses on eliminating progression blockers and resolving various bugs, but it does not address performance issues, as noted in the patch notes below.
Despite its record-breaking launch, Monster Hunter Wilds currently holds a 'mixed' user review rating on Steam, primarily due to performance concerns on PC. Nonetheless, the game's success is undeniable, having sold an impressive 8 million copies within just three days, making it the fastest-selling Capcom game ever. On Steam, it achieved the fifth highest concurrent player count with a peak of 1,384,608 players, surpassing the peaks of Dota 2, Cyberpunk 2077, and Elden Ring. In comparison, Monster Hunter: World reached a peak of 334,684 players.
Looking ahead, players can anticipate a title update in early April, which will introduce a new endgame area for gathering and additional monster hunting content.
