NetEase Games has announced a ban on keyboard and mouse adapters in Marvel Rivals on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles. The use of adapters like XIM, Cronus Zen, Titan Two, KeyMander, and Brook Sniper, which simulate gamepad input from a keyboard and mouse, is considered a violation of the game's terms of service. NetEase cites the unfair advantage these devices provide, particularly in competitive modes with auto-targeting, due to increased control precision and aiming assistance.
The company employs advanced detection tools to identify adapter usage with high accuracy, resulting in account suspensions upon detection.
Separately, the game has been experiencing an issue where higher FPS correlates with increased ping. While this might be less noticeable with already high ping, a jump from, say, 90ms to 150ms can severely impact gameplay. The cause appears linked to frame rate. Until a patch addresses this, players are advised to experiment with their FPS settings, with some suggesting maintaining around 90 FPS as a temporary workaround, a strategy that may differ significantly from other competitive titles.
