This marks the fourth free game offered by the EGS in 2025 and, based on its OpenCritic score of 80 and 88% recommendation rate, is currently the highest-rated free game offered this year.
This free offering lasts a full week, available for download from January 16th to 23rd. Developed by Coin Crew Games, Escape Academy challenges players to master escape rooms as students at the titular academy. The game, initially released in July 2022, supports both solo play and well-regarded online/split-screen co-op multiplayer.
While previously offered as a free mystery game on EGS on January 1st, 2024, this giveaway provides players with a full week of access for the first time. This is particularly beneficial for Xbox Game Pass subscribers, as Escape Academy is leaving the service on January 15th.
