Crytek Announces Restructuring, Layoffs, and Crysis Game Delay
Crytek has announced a restructuring plan involving staff reductions and a delay in the next Crysis game. The company, facing financial difficulties, will lay off approximately 60 employees, representing about 15% of its 400-person workforce.
This restructuring also resulted in the temporary suspension of development on the next Crysis title, a decision made in Q3 2024. Crytek explored re-allocating affected staff to existing projects like Hunt: Showdown 1896, but ultimately determined layoffs were necessary despite cost-cutting measures.

The studio's focus will now shift to expanding Hunt: Showdown 1896 content, while the new Crysis game is indefinitely postponed. Crytek assures affected employees will receive severance packages and career assistance.
Despite these challenges, Crytek remains positive about its future, emphasizing continued development of Hunt: Showdown 1896 and its CRYENGINE technology.
