Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator's Global Server to Shut Down
Sad news for global players of Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator. Koei Tecmo and Akatsuki Games have announced the End of Service (EOS) for the game's global version, effective March 28th, 2025. This comes just over a year after its January 2024 launch.
The Japanese version, launched in September 2023, will continue operation and is even preparing for its 1.5th-anniversary celebration in March 2025 – a stark contrast to the global server's closure.

The End is Near
The global server's shutdown coincides with the Japanese server's anniversary celebrations, a somewhat ironic situation. In-game purchases are already disabled, but players can still utilize any remaining Lodestar Gems. Koei Tecmo promises additional content and events leading up to the March 28th closure. The global version's recent first-anniversary celebration on January 25th now feels bittersweet.
Reasons for the Closure
The developers cited an inability to maintain a satisfactory player experience as the primary reason for the shutdown. The game struggled to gain traction, with player complaints surfacing about the gacha system, gameplay mechanics, and aggressive monetization practices, including significant power creep, appearing only a couple of months after launch.
While the main characters were well-received, these issues ultimately led to the decision to end the global service. Players wishing to experience the game one last time can still find it on the Google Play Store.
