ASTRA: Knights of Veda Bids Farewell to English Dub in Upcoming Update
Following a trend among gacha games, ASTRA: Knights of Veda will be removing its English voice-over option after maintenance on January 23, 2025. This decision, announced by developer FLINT on January 20th, aims to bolster game stability and enhance localization quality.

The January 23rd maintenance will result in the removal of English, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Indonesian, and Italian voice acting. While English text support remains, in-game voiceovers for players outside Korea will default to Japanese. FLINT assures players this change won't affect in-game chat functionality in any previously supported languages.

This move follows similar decisions by other gacha game developers. Square Enix's War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius removed English voice-overs for future content in May 2024, citing a focus on Japanese. Aether Gazer, in February 2024, eliminated English dubbing entirely due to resource reallocation, citing financial constraints. Snowbreak: Containment Zone also dropped English voice acting in December 2023, prioritizing player preference and optimal game experience.

The rationale behind these decisions often centers on player preference and resource management. Prioritizing the most popular language is a logical choice, and the long-term cost of maintaining English voice acting for continuously updated games can be substantial. By reallocating resources, developers aim to ensure the game's continued development and improvement.

While this change may disappoint some players, FLINT emphasizes its commitment to providing improved services and experiences for its players.
