Ubisoft Mainz has unveiled a new trailer for Anno 1800: Pax Romana, offering fresh details about the upcoming expansion. While previously announced as featuring Lazio and Albion, the trailer suggests Lazio serves as a prologue before the main game unfolds in Albion.
Creative Director Manuel Rainer explains that the initially tranquil Lazio is disrupted by a catastrophic event, forcing players to seek refuge and establish a new settlement in the challenging lands of Britain (Albion). Albion presents a stark contrast to Lazio, characterized by a harsh climate, rebellious tribes, and its geographical distance from Rome, posing significant governance challenges.
Players will take on the role of a governor, tasked with overcoming these obstacles through diplomacy and strategic management, rather than relying solely on military might. Respecting local customs and traditions will be key to fostering harmony. A notable feature is the customizable ships, allowing players to choose between prioritizing speed with additional oarsmen or increasing firepower with onboard archery turrets.
Anno 1800: Pax Romana is scheduled for release in 2025 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X.
