Get ready, fans of the Avatar universe! Nickelodeon and Avatar Studios have just announced a thrilling new addition to the beloved franchise: Avatar: Seven Havens. This exciting news comes as part of the celebration of the 20th anniversary of Avatar: The Last Airbender, created by Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko.

The new series, Avatar: Seven Havens, is set to be a 26-episode, 2D animated journey. It follows the adventures of a young Earthbender who discovers her destiny as the next Avatar after Korra. Set in a world torn apart by a devastating cataclysm, this new Avatar finds herself in a perilous position. Rather than being celebrated as a savior, she is hunted as a potential destroyer of humanity. Alongside her long-lost twin, they must unravel the mysteries of their origins and protect the Seven Havens, the last bastions of civilization.

In their statement, Konietzko and DiMartino expressed their excitement, stating, “When we created the original series, we never imagined we’d still be expanding the world decades later. This new incarnation of the Avatarverse is full of fantasy, mystery, and a whole new cast of amazing characters.”

Avatar: Seven Havens will be released in two seasons, each consisting of 13 episodes, forming a complete narrative arc across Book 1 and Book 2. DiMartino and Konietzko are co-creating the series alongside executive producers Ethan Spaulding and Sehaj Sethi. While the cast has yet to be announced, anticipation is already building for this new chapter in the Avatar saga.

This series marks the first mainline TV project from Avatar Studios, which is also hard at work on a full-length animated movie centered around Aang. Scheduled for a theatrical release on January 30, 2026, the film will explore a new adventure with an adult Aang.

To celebrate the 20th anniversary, Avatar Studios is rolling out a range of exciting new content, including books, comics, concerts, toys, and even a game on Roblox. This comprehensive celebration ensures that fans have plenty to look forward to as they dive deeper into the rich world of Avatar.
