Сheaters in Black Ops 6 kick players, Activision made false claims about fixing the issue

In late January, a video surfaced online that demonstrated the use of a tool capable of removing players from matches in Black Ops 6. The footage was taken from the game's multiplayer beta, according to Activision's statement in response to the circulating video. The vulnerability exploited by the tool was addressed and fixed before the official release of Black Ops 6 in November. Activision emphasized that the video does not represent the current state of the game, as the team continually investigates issues related to such utilities.

Despite these claims, players have accused Activision of dishonesty, arguing that hackers are still using the utility. As evidence, they presented a video showing the program in action during a match on the Nuketown map, which was introduced to Black Ops 6 just a week after its launch.

Black Ops 6 emerged as the top-selling game in the United States last year, as reported by Circana analysts. Remarkably, the Call of Duty franchise has maintained its position as the leading game in the U.S. for 16 consecutive years. Meanwhile, EA Sports College Football 25, launched on consoles in July, became the most played sports game in the country.

In 2024, U.S. gamers' overall spending saw a 1.1% decline year over year. Circana attributes this dip primarily to reduced hardware demand. However, spending on add-ons and services increased by 2% and 6%, respectively, indicating a shift in consumer behavior. Looking ahead, the second season of Black Ops 6 and Warzone 2, featuring a ninja theme and a crossover with the "Terminator" universe, is set to launch on January 28.
