Rumor: Halo: MCC and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 Headed to PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2 in 2025
A recent report from industry insider NateTheHate suggests that Halo: The Master Chief Collection is slated for release on PS5 and the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. The same source claims a 2025 launch window for this six-game compilation. This follows Microsoft's February 2024 initiative to bring more first-party titles to non-Xbox platforms, including Pentiment, Hi-Fi Rush, Grounded, and Sea of Thieves. As Dusk Falls, while not developed by a Microsoft subsidiary, was also included in this multi-platform expansion due to its initial Xbox exclusivity. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle (spring 2025) further solidify this strategy.
This potential expansion to PlayStation and Nintendo consoles isn't limited to Halo. NateTheHate also indicated a similar fate for Microsoft Flight Simulator, likely referring to the recently released MFS 2024, with a projected 2025 launch on PS5 and Switch 2.
This isn't a singular prediction. Jez Corden, another reputable leaker, tweeted that "way more" Xbox games are destined for PS5 and Switch 2 in 2025. This corroborates the growing sentiment that the era of exclusive Xbox titles is waning.
The future of Call of Duty on Nintendo platforms is also noteworthy. Microsoft's ten-year agreement to bring Call of Duty to Nintendo consoles, announced in late 2022, is likely awaiting the release of the more powerful Switch 2 before launching any titles.
