Morefun Studios' highly anticipated 3D action brawler, previously known as Hitori no Shita: The Outcast, is back with a new name and release date! Now titled The Hidden Ones, this game, based on the popular webcomic, is set to launch in 2025, with a pre-alpha test planned for January.
Set in contemporary China, the game follows Zhang Chulan, a young martial artist who discovers his grandfather's teachings are highly sought after in the martial arts community. This leads him into a world of intense action and conflict.
The recently released gameplay trailer (see below) showcases impressive visuals and introduces secondary protagonist Wang Ye. The gameplay blends parkour-style traversal with dynamic 3D martial arts combat, featuring projectile dodging, energy blasts, and intense brawling.
A New Identity
Tracking down information on The Hidden Ones has been challenging, especially given the title's multiple iterations. However, initial impressions suggest a visually stunning game from Morefun Studios. The game boasts a grittier, darker aesthetic, setting it apart from other 3D ARPGs.
The game's success will likely depend on its ability to attract players unfamiliar with the source material.
