SoMoGa Inc. has released a stunningly updated version of Vay for Android, iOS, and Steam. This classic 16-bit RPG returns with modernized visuals, an improved user interface, and controller support.
Originally launched in Japan in 1993 on the Sega CD (developed by Hertz and localized by Working Designs), Vay was re-released by SoMoGa on iOS in 2008. This new iteration builds on that legacy.
What's New in the Revamped Vay?
This updated Vay boasts over 100 enemies, a dozen challenging bosses, and exploration across 90 diverse areas. A standout feature is the adjustable difficulty, catering to various player skill levels.
Additional improvements include an auto-save function, Bluetooth controller support for customized gameplay, and an RPG progression system with gear upgrades, spell learning, and AI-controlled character combat.
The Story:
Set in a distant galaxy scarred by a millennium-long interstellar war, the game centers on a colossal, malfunctioning machine that crashed onto the technologically underdeveloped planet Vay. This destructive force wreaked havoc, leaving devastation in its wake.
Players embark on a quest to rescue their abducted wife and potentially save the world. The story begins on their wedding day, with the bride's kidnapping triggering an epic journey to confront the war machines.
Vay's narrative blends nostalgia with modern elements, remaining true to its JRPG roots through experience points, gold acquisition from battles, and nearly ten minutes of animated cutscenes with both English and Japanese audio options.
Vay's revamped version is available now on the Google Play Store for $5.99. Don't miss out on this premium RPG experience! Check out our other gaming news as well.
