A schizophrenic fan found inspiration in Arkham Knight getting one of the legendary Kevin Conroy's latest videos in return

In 2020, a deeply affected Batman: Arkham Knight fan battling schizophrenia commissioned a short video message from Kevin Conroy through the Cameo service. Anticipating a typical 30-second greeting, he instead received over six minutes of profoundly empathetic encouragement. Conroy, touched by the fan's personal account, chose to deliver far more than a perfunctory response. This unexpected act of kindness proved a lifeline for the fan during intensely challenging periods.

A moving Reddit post recounted the gamer's experience. The game's conclusion, depicting Batman's triumph over fear, paranoia, and hallucinations, resonated deeply with the fan's own struggle with schizophrenia. Expressing gratitude, he shared his condition and how Batman's journey empowered him.

Expecting a standard Cameo response, he was astonished by Conroy's extensive and supportive message.

The fan shared: "This video has saved me from suicide countless times. Hearing Batman say he believed in me was incredibly powerful... But as time went on, it became just as important that it was Kevin himself who believed in me."

Initially hesitant to share the video publicly, the fan ultimately decided to post it after learning of Conroy's personal connection to schizophrenia through a family member. The hope was to offer similar comfort and inspiration to others.

The fan added: "If someone in his family asks me to delete this video, I will of course do so. But it has inspired me in my toughest moments, and maybe it will inspire someone else. Hang in there. Because Batman believes in you."

Sadly, Kevin Conroy, the iconic voice of Batman, passed away on November 10, 2022, at the age of 66. However, his compassionate words and enduring legacy continue to inspire countless individuals worldwide.
