This event takes place every Tuesday, spotlighting a different Pokemon each week, and this guide is dedicated to helping you make the most of it. During the Spotlight Hour, you can earn rewards, and if you're lucky, you might even encounter the Shiny version of the featured Pokemon. Additionally, you can maximize your gains by transferring extra Pokemon to collect bonus candies, paving the way to evolve them fully.
Roselia Spotlight Hour Guide

Mark your calendars for January 14th, 2025, as the Roselia Spotlight Hour kicks off from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. To fully enjoy this event, make sure you're stocked up on berries, Pokeballs, and incense. This week's star is Roselia, a Grass and Poison-type Pokemon from the Hoenn region (Generation 3). With a maximum Combat Power of 2114 CP, 186 Attack, and 131 Defense, Roselia is a formidable choice. This Spotlight Hour also offers a double Catch XP bonus, perfect for leveling up quickly.
Roselia, known as Pokemon #0315, evolves through a three-stage process: from Budew to Roselia (requiring 25 Candies), and then to Roserade (with 100 Candies and a Sinnoh Stone). Catching Roselia rewards you with three candies and 100 Stardust, which is essential for its evolution.
In Pokemon GO, Roselia can be traded and transferred to Pokemon Home. As a Grass and Poison-type, it's vulnerable to Fire, Flying, Ice, and Psychic-type attacks, taking 160% more damage from these. Conversely, it resists Electric, Fairy, Fighting, and Water-type attacks, taking 63% less damage, with Grass-type attacks being the most resisted at 39%. For the best performance, equip Roselia with Poison Jab and Sludge Bomb, achieving a DPS of 10.96 and a TDO of 99.91, which is further boosted in Cloudy Weather.
There's also a Shiny version of Roselia to look out for. To increase your chances of encountering this dazzling variant, use incense and berries to maximize your catch rate. The Shiny Roselia boasts a brighter green body with striking purple and black roses.
