Pokémon Go rings in 2025 with a New Year's event! While lacking new Pokémon, Shiny variants, or costumes, Niantic still offers festive fun. The event runs from December 30th, 2024, at 10:00 am to January 1st, 2025, at 8:00 pm.
Expect boosted Shiny rates for wild spawns of Jigglypuff (with a ribbon), Hoothoot (in a New Year's outfit), and Wurmple (in a party hat). Bonuses include 2,025 XP for Excellent Throws and celebratory fireworks.
Raids feature a snowflake-wearing Pikachu (Tier One) and party-hatted Raticate and Wobbuffet (Tier Three), also with increased Shiny odds. Field Research and PokéStop Showcases offer further themed encounters.
The Eggs-pedition Access paid event also kicks off January 1st, lasting the entire month. For $4.99, players unlock increased Gift storage (up to 40), daily Gift opening limits (up to 50), and boosted Gift acquisition from Photo Discs (150).
