2024年11月26日，宝可梦公司打破了吉尼斯世界纪录中“最长开箱直播（视频）”类别的现有纪录。此次直播活动是为了庆祝宝可梦集换式卡牌游戏最新扩展包《猩红·紫罗兰—汹涌火花》的发布。
直播邀请了多位知名网络红人，包括Serebii网站站长Joe Merrick以及社交媒体红人PokeGirl Ranch和Mayplaystv。整个视频在宝可梦的Twitch频道上进行了超过24小时的直播。这三位网络红人共打开了1500包增强包，还拆开了其他宝可梦周边产品。根据宝可梦官方新闻网站的消息，直播结束后，他们共收集到2万多张卡牌。
宝可梦国际公司市场部高级总监Peter Murphy对这一新成就也感到非常自豪。“24小时的开包过程令人难以置信，我们很高兴能与一群优秀的创作者一起获得如此令人瞩目的吉尼斯世界纪录称号，”他说。
虽然直播活动已经结束，但宝可梦粉丝们还有更多惊喜等待着他们。宝可梦官方新闻网站提到，“请密切关注未来两周内内容创作者频道上的更多产品赠送活动。”
直播期间收集到的卡牌将被装入卡册中，“将在节日前捐赠给慈善机构，包括英国的Barnardo’s”。
宝可梦集换式卡牌游戏的最新扩展包于2024年11月8日正式发售，它将玩家带到了《宝可梦：朱紫》DLC第二部分《靛蓝圆盘》的主要地点——奇异空间。该扩展包包含了闪耀的太晶宝可梦ex，包括拥有终极防御技能“金属防御”的阿尔宙斯ex。
这个新的扩展包还包含了标志性的龙系宝可梦，如帕路奇亚、帝牙卢卡、艾特纳多斯、阿罗拉椰蛋树ex和赤齿鳞ex。为了营造更热带的风情，还推出了插画稀有卡和特殊插画稀有卡，包括阿罗拉三地鼠和霏丝，描绘了“平静的海浪和温和的微风”。新的太晶宝可梦ex也出现在这个增强包中，为集换式卡牌游戏的粉丝们带来更多选择，例如沙奈朵ex和飞天螳螂ex。
