Pokémon GO's New Year's Celebration Returns! Get Ready for Festive Fun!

Pokémon GO is celebrating the New Year with its annual holiday event, running from December 30th to January 1st, 2025. This exciting event features themed bonuses, special Pokémon encounters, and plenty of ways to ring in the new year in style. Following the December 21st-22nd Community Day event (featuring returning Community Day Pokémon), this New Year's event promises even more festive fun!

One of the event highlights is the chance to earn a whopping 2,025 XP for every Pokémon caught with an Excellent Throw. Enjoy the immersive atmosphere, complete with festive decorations and fireworks illuminating the skies!

Expect to encounter themed Pokémon more frequently. Keep an eye out for Jigglypuff with a ribbon, Hoothoot in a New Year's outfit, and Wurmple sporting a party hat – and don't forget the possibility of encountering their Shiny forms!

ytRaids are also getting a festive makeover. One-star raids will feature a snowflake-hat-wearing Pikachu, while three-star raids bring party-hat-adorned Raticate and Wobbuffet. All three have increased Shiny encounter rates.

For those who prefer quests, participate in Field Research and Timed Research tasks for extra Pokémon encounters. A $2 Paid Timed Research offers exclusive rewards, including three Premium Battle Passes, three Lucky Eggs, 2,025 Stardust, and encounters with event Pokémon.

The Ultra Holiday Box remains available in the Pokémon GO Web Store for $4.99, containing a Pokémon Storage upgrade, an Item Bag upgrade, and 17 Rare Candies. Don't forget to redeem those Pokémon Go codes for some free goodies!
