Evercade's Super Pocket handheld line expands with Atari and Technos editions. These new handhelds will feature classic games from the respective platforms. A limited-edition run of 2600 wood-grain Atari handhelds will also be available soon.
Game preservation is a contentious topic, but Evercade provides a legitimate way to play retro games without exorbitant secondhand costs. Following the successful Capcom and Taito releases, the Atari and Technos editions offer another avenue for enjoying classic titles.
A Retro Revival
The release of officially licensed retro handhelds is always welcome, particularly in a market dominated by emulation. Evercade has built a solid reputation, though the limited-edition wood-grain Atari might be seen as a marketing ploy by some (unless it genuinely features real wood grain).
The Super Pocket's compatibility with existing Evercade cartridges allows for convenient portability, easily shifting between handheld and home console play.
