Nintendo's Surprise: An Interactive Alarm Clock and a Mysterious Switch Online Playtest

Nintendo Alarmo Alarm Clock Releases Before GTA 6

A Nintendo interactive alarm clock? It's a reality! Alongside the newly revealed Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo, Nintendo has also launched a secretive Switch Online playtest.

The Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo

Free Alarm Sound Updates on the Way!

Priced at $99, the "Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo" is an interactive alarm clock designed to make waking up feel like stepping into a Nintendo game. The alarm features sounds from popular franchises like Mario, Zelda, and Splatoon, with free updates adding more in the future.

The Alarmo's unique feature is its motion-sensing technology. It only silences when you fully leave your bed, rewarding your effort with a "victory fanfare." Waving your hand merely lowers the volume; lingering in bed intensifies the alarm.

Utilizing a radio wave sensor, the Alarmo measures your distance and movement speed without the privacy concerns of camera-based systems. "It can detect subtle movements, even in dark rooms or with obstacles," explains Nintendo developer Tetsuya Akama, highlighting its privacy-focused design.

Early Access for Switch Online Members

Nintendo Switch Online members in the US and Canada enjoy limited-time early access through the My Nintendo Store. The Nintendo New York store also offers in-person purchases at launch.
