Speculation about the Nintendo Switch 2 has shifted from the console itself to the size of its game cases, following a potential leak from a French retailer.
Nintendo Life reported that journalist Felipe Lima discovered a listing for a Take-Two Interactive game on Fnac, a French retailer, which included dimensions. These dimensions suggest the Switch 2 game cases will be slightly larger than those of the original Switch.
A Reddit user, HertzBurst, created a visual comparison showcasing the purported size difference. According to the listing, the Switch 2 cases measure approximately 5.1 inches (13 cm) by 7.7 inches (19.5 cm).

While larger than the original Switch cases, they remain considerably smaller than those used for Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 games. Although unconfirmed, it's plausible that retailers would receive case dimensions early for logistical purposes such as preparing shelf displays.
A release window for the Nintendo Switch 2 remains unannounced by Nintendo, however, speculation points towards a launch between June and September. This is based on hands-on events scheduled until June and a statement from Nacon, the publisher of Greedfall 2, suggesting a pre-September release.
The Nintendo Switch 2 was initially unveiled in January with a short trailer highlighting backward compatibility and the inclusion of a second USB-C port. Many details, including the purpose of a new Joy-Con button, remain undisclosed, although theories abound, such as the "Joy-Con mouse" hypothesis.
