The Witcher's Newest Animated Spinoff: Sirens of the Deep
A Seaside Village Showdown

Netflix Tudum, the streaming giant's official news source, announced The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep, debuting February 11, 2025. Based on Andrzej Sapkowski's short story, "A Little Sacrifice," from Sword of Destiny, this spinoff plunges viewers into a coastal village grappling with a centuries-old conflict between humans and merfolk. Instead of the usual beasties, Geralt faces a unique challenge: battling aquatic creatures.
Returning to voice Geralt is Doug Cockle. Joey Batey and Anya Chalotra reprise their roles as Jaskier and Yennefer, respectively. Christina Wren (Will Trent) joins the cast as the new character, Essi Daven. Andrzej Sapkowski serves as a creative consultant, with Mike Ostrowski and Rae Benjamin (writers for the live-action series) penning the script. Kang Hei Chul, storyboard artist for The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, directs.
A Timeline Placement: Between Seasons

The film fits neatly into the timeline of the live-action series, specifically between episodes 5 and 6 of Season 1. Following Geralt and Yennefer's meeting in Rinde after the Djinn incident, Geralt is hired to resolve a monster problem near the coast.
Considering Rinde's proximity to Redania and Temeria, the film likely takes place within these kingdoms. The short story's setting, Bremervoord City in Temeria, under Duke Agloval's rule, may also play a significant role. Whether the film strictly adheres to the source material remains to be seen.
