Get ready, Marvel fans! NetEase Games' Marvel Rivals is opening its doors for a closed beta test on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Steam. This follows a successful closed alpha on PC back in May. The beta, running from late July into early August, offers a taste of the intense 6v6 Marvel superhero battles.
This latest beta expands on the alpha, introducing new playable characters like Adam Warlock and Venom, and a fresh map, Tokyo 2099: Spider-Islands. A special Scarlet Spider costume for Spider-Man awaits PS5 beta participants upon the game's full release.
Console players (PS5 and Xbox Series X/S) can register for the beta via a short questionnaire. PC players (Steam) can simply wishlist the game to enter the selection process. Selected participants will receive email notifications. The beta commences July 23rd at 6 PM ET (3 PM PT) and concludes August 5th at 3 AM ET (12 AM PT). Steam users can request access starting July 20th.
The beta is open to players in North America, Europe, and Asia, and a key focus will be testing cross-play functionality. While participant numbers remain undisclosed, console players are encouraged to register promptly to increase their chances. Marvel Rivals shows strong potential within the hero-shooter genre, and this beta is crucial for refining cross-platform play and overall game performance.
