Jurassic World Dominion incorporates a previously unused scene from Michael Crichton's original Jurassic Park novel, screenwriter David Koepp has confirmed. In an interview with Variety, Koepp, who penned the screenplay for the 1993 film and returned for Dominion, explained that revisiting Crichton's work provided inspiration for the latest sequel, lacking its own source material. He revealed that a sequence from the novel, deemed too extensive for the original film, finally found its place in Dominion.
"There was a sequence from the first novel that we'd always wanted in the original movie, but didn't have room for," Koepp stated. "We were like, 'Hey, we get to use that now.'"
While Koepp refrained from specifying the scene, fan speculation is rife. Several scenes from the novel are considered strong contenders.
Warning! Spoilers for the original Jurassic Park novel and possibly Jurassic World Dominion may follow.
