Melpot Studio has released the first trailer for its upcoming figure skating simulation game, ICE on the Edge, launching on PC via Steam in 2026. This innovative game blends vibrant anime-inspired visuals with incredibly realistic skating choreography, developed in collaboration with professional figure skaters.
In ICE on the Edge, you become a coach, nurturing the talents of your skaters. Your responsibilities are multifaceted: crafting performance routines, selecting music, designing costumes, and choosing the technical elements of their programs. Your ultimate goal? Guide your athletes to victory at the prestigious fictional competition, "On the Edge." The game's choreography boasts input from renowned Japanese figure skater Akiko Suzuki, who also contributed to the anime series Medalist.
The developers embarked on this project with limited figure skating knowledge, but their dedication shines through. They immersed themselves in the sport, mastering its intricacies—from understanding the subtle differences between jumps to the complexities of the scoring system—ensuring an authentic and immersive experience.
ICE on the Edge uniquely combines anime artistry and realistic skating mechanics, aiming to enthrall both gamers and figure skating fans.
