The *Pokemon GO* Deep Depths event introduces exciting new Pokemon, Nickit and Thievul, to your Pokedex. Here's how you can catch these elusive creatures during the event.
How to Get Nickit in Pokemon GO
Catching Nickit in the Wild in Pokemon GO
To snag a Nickit during the Deep Depths event, keep an eye out for this Dark-type Pokemon in the wild. Though it's an uncommon encounter, staying vigilant and frequently checking your radar in the bottom right corner of the game will help you spot one. Don't let any wild Nickit slip through your fingers!
Hatching Nickit From an Egg in Pokemon GO
Another way to obtain Nickit is by hatching it from a 7 km egg during the event. To ease the process, the hatch distance for eggs placed in an Incubator during the Deep Depths event will be halved, making it easier for those who can't spend all day walking.
Getting Nickit From Field Research in Pokemon GO
The Deep Depths event includes Field Research that requires you to "defeat two Team Go Rocket Grunts" to encounter Nickit. If this task seems daunting, you can opt for the Deep Depths Premium Timed Research Ticket for $1.99, which guarantees two chances to catch Nickit. One chance comes after completing the "Defeat a Team Go Rocket Grunt" task, and the other after finishing all the missions.
How to Get Thievul in Pokemon GO
Unlike most evolutions in *Pokemon GO*, you won't find Thievul roaming in the wild. To evolve Nickit into Thievul, you'll need to collect 50 Nickit Candy. To boost your Candy collection, use Pinap Berries when catching Nickit, as they double the Candy reward. Setting alerts in your Pokedex for wild Nickit appearances can also be a smart move to ensure you don't miss any opportunities.
How Long Is the Deep Depths Event in Pokemon GO?
To ensure you add both Nickit and Thievul to your Pokedex before the event ends, mark your calendar. The Deep Depths event begins on March 19 and concludes on Monday, March 24, 2025, at 8:00 PM local time. With a full weekend to explore, it's the perfect time to visit local hotspots and use Incense to attract more Nickit. Soon, you'll have plenty of chances to evolve Thievul and secure a spot for it on your team.
