Game of Thrones: Kingsroad Mobile RPG Beta Test Announced
Netmarble's upcoming mobile RPG, Game of Thrones: Kingsroad, has unveiled a new gameplay trailer and details about its closed beta test. This action-adventure game, set during the show's fourth season, promises engaging combat and a rich narrative experience.
The closed beta, running January 16-22, 2025, in the US, Canada, and select European regions, offers fans early access to the game's class-based progression system, featuring iconic characters like Jon Snow, Jaime Lannister, and even Drogon. Players can expect "fully manual" controls and an original storyline centered around a new House Tyre heir in the North.
Initially announced in November 2024 and further highlighted at The Game Awards, Kingsroad leverages the established Game of Thrones lore and characters, aiming for "raw, aggressive, and destructive" combat. The over-one-minute gameplay trailer showcases the game's features, including the ability to control knights and assassins. Inspiration for original characters is drawn from Wildlings, Dothraki, and the Faceless Men.
The beta test, accessible via the game's official website, provides a taste of the game before its full release later in 2025. This mobile title offers a compelling experience for fans eagerly awaiting the next installment in George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series, The Winds of Winter. While Martin has faced writing challenges, Kingsroad along with other projects like A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms and House of the Dragon season 3, provide fans with engaging content in the meantime.
