Conquering Baramos's Lair in Dragon Quest 3 Remake: A Comprehensive Guide

After securing the Six Orbs and hatching Ramia the Everbird, your journey culminates in Baramos's Lair. This challenging dungeon serves as a crucial test before venturing into the underworld. This guide details navigating and conquering Baramos's Lair in Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake.

Baramos, the primary antagonist in the game's first half, resides within this formidable dungeon. Access is granted only after obtaining Ramia, who transports you to the lair's valley. Aim for a party level of at least 20 before tackling this challenge. The lair holds valuable items, detailed in subsequent sections.

Reaching Baramos's Lair

Reaching Baramos's Lair

Following the Maw of the Necrogond and acquiring the Silver Orb, Ramia becomes available. Fly from either the Shrine of the Everbird or Necrogond Shrine to the island north of Necrogond, nestled amidst mountains. This is Baramos's Lair. Ramia will deposit you near the entrance.

Navigating Baramos's Lair

Baramos's Lair deviates from typical dungeon structures. Instead of linear progression, it involves traversing indoor and outdoor areas to reach Baramos. The main outdoor area, "Surroundings," serves as a central hub. The following outlines the main path to the boss, with treasure locations detailed separately.

Main Path to Baramos:

  1. Upon entering from the overworld, bypass the main door. Head east, towards the northeast pool.
  2. Ascend the stairs near the pool, then turn west to another stair set. Enter the door on your right (Eastern Tower).
  3. Ascend the Eastern Tower and exit to the roof.
  4. Traverse the roof southwest, descend, continue west, and pass through gaps in the northwest double wall. Use the northwest stairs.
  5. Enter the Central Tower. Use "Safe Passage" to cross electrified panels and descend to B1 Passageway A.
  6. In B1 Passageway A, head east to the far eastern stairs (South-East Tower).
  7. Ascend the stairs in the South-East Tower to the roof, then head west and descend again. Cross the grass northwest and enter the only door.
  8. This leads to a small section in the northeast Central Tower. Exit.
  9. You're now in B1 Passageway B. Proceed north and ascend the stairs.
  10. Enter the Throne Room. Exit south, avoiding floor panels.
  11. Head east from the Throne Room (northwest "Surroundings") to the northeast structure on the lake island – Baramos's Den.
