In a recent developer publication, BioWare revealed details about what PC gamers can anticipate from Dragon Age: The Veilguard before its launch. The studio emphasized a variety of features, including: personalization choices, advanced display settings, and smooth integrations with Steam’s native functionalities, including cloud saves, Remote Play support, and compatibility with the Steam Deck.

The recent announcement accompanied a new "RTX Announce Trailer" video from Nvidia, which confirmed the game’s October 31 release date. As part of its marketing campaign, BioWare shared insights into crafting an optimal experience for the PC, the platform the Dragon Age series originated on. "The Dragon Age franchise began on PC, and we wanted to ensure PC is a superb platform to play our game," the studio stated. To accomplish this, BioWare indicated it invested approximately 200,000 hours of performance and compatibility testing on PCs, which constituted 40% of their total platform testing endeavors.

Furthermore, BioWare conducted nearly 10,000 hours of user research to refine controls and UI elements across various configurations. Players can expect native support for PS5 DualSense controllers with haptic feedback, alongside support for Xbox controllers and keyboard and mouse setups. Additionally, the game will enable players to switch between controllers and keyboard/mouse setups mid-game or in menus. The game also introduces customizable class-specific keybindings, allowing for personalized controls. The Veilguard will support 21:9 Ultrawide display, Cinematic Aspect Ratio toggle, customizable field of view (FOV), uncapped frame rates, full HDR support, and Ray Tracing features.
