Disney Dreamlight Valley: Where To Find Mussels

Disney Dreamlight Valley's Storybook Vale expansion introduces a wealth of new ingredients, and among them, the Mussel can be a bit tricky to find. This tasty mollusk, described in-game as a surprisingly effective water filter, is a key ingredient in several recipes. Unlike some other shellfish, Mussels only appear in specific Storybook Vale biomes. Their spawn locations can be unpredictable, making them a challenge for some players.

To increase your chances of finding Mussels, focus your search within Mythopia. Specifically, check these areas: The Elysian Fields, The Fiery Plains, The Statue's Shadow, and Mount Olympus. While some players report finding them easily across these locations, others find them rarer and more concentrated in specific spots. For example, some players have found Mussels near trial areas, such as the one near the first trial in the Elysian Fields (where you unlock Hades).

Interestingly, a cluster of Mussels can often be found hidden behind the secret bush area in the Elysian Fields during Hades' "A Moth to a Flame" quest. Uncovering this area may increase the overall Mussel spawn rate across Mythopia.

Mussel Uses in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Unlike some other seafood, Mussels aren't used in crafting. Their primary use is as a culinary ingredient in these Storybook Vale recipes: Garlic Steam Mussels, Mussel Risotto, and Steamed Mussels. Alternatively, you can consume a Mussel for a +150 energy boost, or sell them for 75 Gold Star Coins at Goofy's Stalls.
