Koei Tecmo has unveiled a new trailer for Dead or Alive Xtreme: Venus Vacation PRISM, a romance game spin-off of their popular fighting game franchise.
Launching March 27th on PS5, PS4, and PC, the game features a "global version" for Asian markets with English text support. Players can engage in mini-games, customize character appearances, and bask in the tropical island setting. The developers highlight numerous opportunities to build relationships with the heroines and become fully immersed in the romantic narrative.
Venus Vacation PRISM promises a unique experience for Dead or Alive fans, offering a departure from the core fighting game mechanics while retaining the series' distinctive style.
This new direction contrasts sharply with Koei Tecmo's ongoing efforts to combat fan-created content. The publisher reportedly removes approximately 200-300 doujinshi and 2,000-3,000 images of the game's characters annually. The Dead or Alive series, known for its fighting gameplay and attractive, often scantily-clad female characters, has a significant fanbase that produces "adult" fan content. While appreciating fan art, the developers clearly disapprove of this particular trend.
