CODENAMES: Spymaster Board Game Launches on Android

Codenames: The Spy Game Now on Your Mobile!

For word game enthusiasts, Codenames needs no introduction. This popular board game, centered around spies and code names, is now available as a mobile app from CGE Digital (based on the original design by Vlaada Chvátil).

What is Codenames?

Codenames is a team-based word association game. Players, acting as secret agents, must identify their operatives hidden behind code words, using one-word clues provided by their spymaster. The challenge lies in correctly identifying your agents while avoiding civilian bystanders and, most importantly, the assassin!

Digital Codenames: Enhanced Gameplay

The digital version boasts fresh words, exciting game modes, and unlockable achievements. A career mode adds depth, allowing you to level up, earn rewards, and acquire special gadgets. The asynchronous multiplayer feature lets players take up to 24 hours per turn, enabling simultaneous play in multiple games, global challenges, and daily solo puzzles.

The Core Gameplay Remains

The core gameplay remains true to the original: a grid of cards appears on screen, and players tap those they believe conceal their agents. Correct guesses reveal the agents, but selecting the assassin results in an immediate loss. Managing multiple games adds an extra layer of strategic complexity. As you improve, you’ll also get to experience the role of the spymaster, crafting the crucial one-word clues.

Ready to Test Your Skills?

Think you have what it takes to master word association and outwit your opponents? Download Codenames from the Google Play Store for $4.99.
