To tap into this "festive fatigue," Clash Royale has launched a humorous pop-up event at Boxpark Shoreditch, London. Participants can shred unwanted Christmas cards in exchange for in-game rewards – a guilt-free way to dispose of cards while gaining valuable in-game goodies.
This anti-Christmas sentiment extends beyond cards. Clash Royale's research shows that 20% of people dislike Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas Is You," and over 20% have publicly voiced their displeasure with Christmas music or opted for beef instead of turkey.
The anti-Christmas spirit even reaches Clash Royale's content creators. YouTubers like Orange Juice Gaming are receiving intentionally awful gifts (think socks, oven mitts, and nail clippers), but with a twist: the gifts are wrapped in custom Clash Royale paper containing in-game rewards for fans.
