Maintaining Your Guard
Xu Wu's agility is a significant obstacle. Its dark coloration and erratic movements, including disappearing into walls and reappearing from the ceiling, make predicting its attacks difficult. This behavior is primarily confined to its nest, demanding extra caution in that area.
Harness the Power of Ice
Xu Wu exhibits a significant weakness to Ice. Utilize Ice ammo with ranged weapons, or equip gear that inflicts Ice elemental damage with melee weapons. Consider the Frost Jewel decoration for the Ice Attack skill and carry Frost Pods for supplementary Ice damage.
Evade the Grab Attack
Xu Wu employs a debilitating grab attack. If caught, you'll be temporarily incapacitated. React swiftly—within approximately two seconds—using your slinger to break free. Frost Pods prove particularly effective here.
Target the Mouth
Xu Wu's mouth is its most vulnerable point, though its location beneath its body makes it a fleeting target, usually visible only during dive attacks. Landing a powerful blow here inflicts substantial damage and may even break the mouth, yielding Xu Wu's fang. Failing that, the head provides a strong alternative, with 4-star weakness to blunt and cut damage, and 3-star weakness to ammo damage.
Exploit Poison's Weakness
Xu Wu has a 3-star weakness to Poison. Bows, with their Poison Coating, are ideal for inflicting this status ailment. While other status effects are viable, avoid Sleep, as it's largely ineffective.

Once Xu Wu's health drops to 20 percent, utilize a Pitfall Trap or Shock Trap. Lure it with meat or even yourself, then swiftly fire a tranquilizer before it escapes the trap. Time is critical; act quickly!
