Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is getting a much-requested feature: in-game challenge tracking. Treyarch Studios confirmed they're developing this functionality, absent from the game's launch but present in 2023's Modern Warfare 3.
While a release date remains unannounced, the upcoming Season 2 update later this month hints at a potential timely arrival. This news follows a recent January 9th update addressing various Multiplayer and Zombies bugs, UI improvements, and XP adjustments for the Red Light, Green Light mode. Significantly, Treyarch reversed a controversial Zombies change from January 3rd, restoring the original round timing and zombie spawn mechanics in Directed Mode after player feedback.
Challenge Tracking on the Way
Treyarch's Twitter response to a fan inquiry confirmed the challenge tracking feature is "currently in the works." The absence of this popular Modern Warfare 3 feature in Black Ops 6 initially disappointed players, especially those pursuing Mastery camos. The anticipated functionality will likely mirror Modern Warfare 3, providing real-time challenge progress updates within the game's UI.
More Improvements Incoming
Treyarch also acknowledged another significant improvement: separate HUD settings for Multiplayer and Zombies. This change, also "in the works," addresses player frustration with constantly adjusting HUD preferences between game modes. These updates promise a smoother, more streamlined Black Ops 6 experience for players.
