The Dark Knight's reign in the video game world was once a near-annual event. Rocksteady's Batman games redefined the superhero genre, leaving a lasting impact. Yet, in recent years, the Caped Crusader has become a less frequent video game protagonist. A true solo Batman adventure hasn't graced our screens since 2017's The Enemy Within, and there's no immediate indication of that changing. While comic fans eagerly anticipate upcoming superhero titles, those seeking to don the cowl will need to delve into the past to experience the best Batman games.

He appeared in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, though it's hardly a dedicated Batman title. More importantly, the Arkhamverse expanded with a new VR entry. This update includes an expanded section on that VR game and added galleries showcasing some of the best Batman games.
