Bandai Namco's popular fortress strategy RPG, Naruto X Boruto Ninja Voltage, is officially shutting down on December 9th, 2024, marking the end of nearly seven years of gameplay. This news, while unfortunate for dedicated players, isn't entirely unexpected, following a similar fate for Naruto Blazing.
The game's closure date is December 9th, 2024. Until then, players can enjoy several upcoming events, including the Village Leader World Championship (October 8th-18th), an All-Out Mission (October 18th-November 1st), and a final "Thanks For Everything" campaign (November 1st-December 1st). Players can continue collecting cards, participating in summons, and using in-game items until the servers close. It's advisable to spend any remaining Gold Coins before the shutdown.
The game's decline appears linked to several factors. While initially praised for its balanced gameplay, featuring village building and strategic defense, the introduction of powerful characters like Minato initiated a noticeable power creep. This, coupled with increasingly prominent pay-to-win mechanics, reduced free-to-play rewards, and the near-disappearance of multiplayer features, led to player dissatisfaction and ultimately, the game's demise. The game remains available on the Google Play Store for those interested in experiencing it before the shutdown.
