This guide details the four artifact detectors in Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl, explaining their functionality and acquisition methods. Artifacts significantly boost Skif's stats, but locating them requires an artifact detector. The detector's type impacts the ease of finding artifacts.
Artifact Detectors in Stalker 2
- Echo Detector – Standard Artifact Detector
The Echo Detector is your starting detector. This small yellow device uses a strobe light; the frequency increases as you approach an artifact. While functional, pinpointing the artifact's exact location can be time-consuming.
- Bear Detector – Enhanced Detection
An upgrade over the Echo Detector, obtained during the "A Sign of Hope" side mission or from vendors. It provides a visual distance indicator using concentric rings that illuminate as you near the artifact. Full illumination signifies proximity to the artifact's spawn point.
- Hilka Detector – Precise Readings
Acquired during the "Mysterious Case" side mission from Sultan. The Hilka uses numerical readings to indicate distance to the artifact; decreasing numbers signal closer proximity.
- Veles Detector – Superior Detection
Considered the best detector, rewarded for completing the "In Search of Past Glory" main mission. It features a radar displaying the artifact's location and nearby hazardous anomalies.
