In Avowed's Living Lands, resources for upgrading weapons and armor abound, but none are as coveted as the four Adra types. This guide reveals how to acquire them all.
Adra Spawning and Scaling in Avowed
Avowed features four Adra types: Base, Awakened, Corrupted, and Adra Bán. Each has varying rarity and value; higher-quality weapon/armor upgrades demand rarer Adra. For instance, achieving Legendary quality requires Adra Bán.
Higher-value Adra resides in tougher game areas. As you progress, enemy strength increases, necessitating upgraded gear. This requires rarer Adra, typically found in later zones. However, lower-tier Adra can be crafted into higher tiers at a Party Camp, though less efficiently than directly finding the higher-tier Adra. Here's where each Adra type spawns:
- Base Adra: Dawnshore
- Awakened Adra: Emerald Stair Region
- Corrupted Adra: Shatterscarp Region
- Adra Bán: Galawain's Tusks and the game's final area.
Obtaining Adra in Avowed

Your Adra finds depend on your current region. Major story points, like boss fights (defeating Ygwulf in Dawnshore yields Adra, while mini-bosses in the final area drop Adra Bán), often reward Adra.
Beyond major story sections, Adra can be obtained through:
- Merchants: Many merchants in major settlements (like Paradis in Dawnshore or Thirdborn in Shatterscarp) sell limited Adra.
- Loot: Defeating named enemies (bosses, mini-bosses) and searching lockboxes often yields Adra. Carry lockpicks!
- Crafting: Disassembling unique weapons and armor yields Adra, scaling with item quality. Lower-tier Adra can be upgraded at Party Camps.
- Strangled Adra: These large Adra pillars, scattered across the Living Lands, often require puzzle-solving to access.
This comprehensive guide covers all methods for acquiring the four Adra types in Avowed.
Avowed is available now on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox Game Pass.
